Synopsis: Fans of Matthew McConaughey & Kate Hudson, particularly of: How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (Widescreen Edition), will love FOOL’S GOLD! Matthew McConaughey a charming yet irresponsibles treasure-hunter/husband has spent 8 years and more than all the money he and his wife ever had, in search of the lost dowry of a Spanish Queen! On the eve of the discovery of his greatest clue, his wife, Kate Hudson, divorces him! But with this new clue, can he find the treasure and regain the affection of his wife before his cut-throat investor actually succeeds in either cutting his throat or worse beating him to the treasure? Do you know what the definition of fool’s gold is? According to the dictionary the definition for fool’s gold is: “any of several minerals, especially pyrite and chalcopyrite, sometimes mistaken for gold.” Pay close attention to the last part of the description “sometimes mistaken for gold”. I guess by naming this film Fool’s Gold the screenwriters were trying to be honest: This film may look good (two big stars and a treasure hunt!) but it is not. Still it manages to be reasonably entertaining.
